Parliamentary Committee

Examine, investigate, and report on allegations of breach of parliamentary privilege or contempt of Parliament; receive and adjudicate privilege notices submitted by members under the Rules of Procedure; make recommendations to the House on appropriate action. The committee protects the rights, freedoms, and immunities of MPs and the House as a collective body, including freedom of speech within Parliament, freedom from arrest during sessions, and the right to regulate internal proceedings without interference.
