Apex inter-ministerial coordination body for national climate policy. Monitors implementation of the Bangladesh Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan (BCCSAP 2009), provides strategic guidance and whole-of-government direction to line ministries on climate adaptation and mitigation, reviews NDC commitments and their fulfilment, and considers implementation of decisions taken at UN Climate Conferences (UNFCCC COPs). In 2023 the body was reconvened as the National Committee for Environment and Climate Change (NCECC), consolidating all ministries involved in climate and environment under a single apex platform.
