Provide overall guidance and coordination to Bangladesh's National Statistical System (NSS) with the goal of making official statistics more user-friendly and globally accepted; recommend to the government priorities for conducting surveys, censuses, and other statistical activities; advise on the budget, work plan, timetable, and methodology for censuses and surveys conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS); coordinate among high-level government agencies that produce statistics
