Administer intellectual property rights in Bangladesh: grant patents for inventions, register industrial designs and trademarks, register and protect geographical indications, and serve as the national Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) under WIPO. Implements the Bangladesh Patent Act 2023, the Trade Marks Act 2009, the Patents and Designs Act 1911 (now largely superseded), and the Geographical Indication of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act 2013.
