Committee on Estimates

Parliamentary Committee

Examines estimates of expenditure voted by the Sangsad throughout the financial year; suggests forms in which estimates shall be presented; reports on what economies, improvements in organisation, efficiency or administrative reform can be effected consistent with the policy underlying the estimates; and suggests alternative policies in order to bring about efficiency and economy in administration. The committee does not question policy in principle but may suggest how agreed policy can be implemented more economically.
