1.2.1 Conventional Banking The principal activities of the bank are to provide all kinds of commercial banking services to its customers through its branches and SME Centers and electronic delivery channels in Bangladesh. 1.2.2 Islamic Banking Unit The Bank obtained instruction to operate Islamic Banking Unit vide letter no. BRPD(P-3)745(3)/2009-2567 dated July 22, 2009. The Bank commenced operation of its 05 (Five) Islamic windows on February 28, 2010. Now, there are 60 Islamic Banking Windows operating in different locations in the country. The Islamic Banking Windows are governed under the rules and guidelines of Bangladesh Bank. The principal activities of the windows are to provide all kinds of Islamic Commercial Banking services to its customers. 1.2.3 Off-shore Banking Unit The Bank obtained the Off-shore Banking Unit permission vide letter no # BRPD (P-3)744(27)/2013-1993 dated December 03, 2013. The Off-shore Banking Unit is a separate Banking Unit of Agrani Bank PLC., operates its business through separate counter. The Off-shore Banking Unit is governed under the rules and guidelines of Bangladesh Bank. The Bank commenced the operation of its Off-shore Banking Unit with effect from the year 2013. The Unit is located at Chittagong EPZ Branch, Chittagong. Separate financial statements of Off-shore Banking Unit are also prepared.
