Jashim Uddin was Chandanaish Upazila Chairman (elected 2024) before this parliamentary win. His BNP nomination was controversial because of reported prior AL links and outstanding Padma Bank loan default (case 103/2020, Tk 93.82 crore); a Chattogram money loan court issued an arrest warrant in April 2024, reissued July 2024, with a repayment verdict in January 2025. Sonali Bank default (Tk 11.63 crore, Motijheel branch) also referenced in affidavit.
