Provenance & notes
Winner Md Abdul Hannan is a rebel BNP figure: he was convener of Faridganj upazila BNP and was expelled by the party after contesting independently when denied the BNP nomination (given instead to Md Harunur Rashid). He is one of seven independent winners nationally, all former BNP figures. Jamaat candidate Md Billal Hossain Miyaji (district Ameer, Chandpur Jamaat) finished third with 66,692 votes; runner-up Rashid (BNP) received 69,155 votes. Raw vote margin: Hannan over Rashid = 5,020 votes. vote_share_percent and margin_percent are null: no verified total valid votes figure is available from a post-election primary source -- registered electors were 400,631 (BSS pre-election, 208,603 M, 192,027 F, 1 third-gender) but valid votes cast is not confirmed. Do not impute. Boundary was last redrawn pre-2008 (pre-2001 census realignment); no 2024 EC delimitation change confirmed. No prior MP term for Hannan found in any source; Wikipedia 'Abdul Hannan (politician)' entry refers to a different person (Sylhet-4, died 2009). Age, education, occupation, and EC affidavit data not publicly available at time of verification.
