Provenance & notes
Constituency number 244 confirmed as Brahmanbaria-2 by Wikipedia's list of Jatiya Sangsad constituencies and by multiple election-result sources. Division is Chittagong (Brahmanbaria district is in Chittagong division). The 2024 EC delimitation (gazette Sept 4, 2024) added Chandura and Budhanti unions of Bijoynagar upazila to Brahmanbaria-2, transferring them from Brahmanbaria-3; Harashpur union was retained in Brahmanbaria-3 after appeals (Dhaka Tribune, TBS); boundary_redrawn_2024 is therefore true. Upazilas field lists full upazilas (Sarail, Ashuganj) plus the two Bijoynagar unions explicitly to avoid implying full Bijoynagar is included. Winner vote count 118,547 and runner-up Junayed Al Habib vote count 80,434 confirmed independently by BSS (bssnews.net/360764) and TBS. Raw vote difference is 38,113; The Financial Express reports the margin as 37,568 votes, implying at least one additional candidate received approximately 545 votes. Total valid votes were not found in any accessible primary source; vote_share_percent, runner_up_vote_share, total_valid_votes, and margin_percent are all null rather than imputed. Rumeen Farhana was born Aug 19, 1981 (age 44 as of 2026-05-17). Education confirmed by Wikipedia and Daily Star profile. Prior term: reserved Women Seat-50 (11th Parliament), elected May 28, 2019, resigned Dec 11, 2022; term_count is 2 inclusive of current term. She was expelled from BNP on Dec 30, 2025 (Dhaka Tribune, TBS, Daily Star) for contesting as independent against the party's alliance decision to give the seat to Jamiat; she ran under the 'duck' symbol. Party is therefore 'Independent' for this term; party_role is null. Runner-up Junayed Al Habib is Joint Secretary General of Jamiate Ulamaye Bangladesh (the BNP-led 11-party alliance partner for this seat). wealth_disclosed_bdt and criminal_cases are null/empty: EC nomination affidavit PDF not publicly accessible at time of verification; EC-only rule applied strictly. committee_memberships is empty: parliament.gov.bd member portal did not list committee assignments accessible at time of verification. Rumeen's father was Oli Ahad, a Language Movement leader; she was born in Bijoynagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district.
