Provenance & notes

Constituency number 189 confirmed as Dhaka-16 (Mirpur/Pallabi-Rupnagar area) across Wikipedia, Grokipedia, EC gazette references, and all press sources -- no discrepancy with the requested number. Constituency covers wards 2, 3, 5, 6 of DNCC under Pallabi and Rupnagar police station jurisdictions; it is a Dhaka metropolitan seat, not a traditional upazila -- 'upazilas' field lists the de-facto sub-areas. Constituency was created at 2008 redistricting, not 2024, so boundary_redrawn_2024 = false. Vote counts (Baten 88,828; Aminul 85,467; Saiful Islam/IAB 3,679) confirmed by Wikipedia and Prothom Alo; three-candidate subtotal is 177,974 of 181,747 total valid votes, with 3,773 votes distributed among minor candidates and possibly rejected ballots. Margin of 3,361 votes (1.85 pp) confirmed by Prothom Alo's official returning-officer announcement on Feb 13, 2026. An earlier Jugantor count showed 2,616 margin -- that was an intermediate count with 72 of ~100+ centres reported; final is 3,361. EC affidavit wealth: total BDT figure not publicly available as a single sum; partial Prothom Alo analysis of the affidavit shows Baten ranks second among Dhaka Jamaat candidates for immovable assets (~Tk 21.5M), holds 50 bhori of gold (largest among Dhaka Jamaat candidates), wife's combined assets ~Tk 24.5M, and annual income ~Tk 1.6M (16 lakh). EC-rule: wealth_disclosed_bdt set to null because a single audited total from the EC affidavit PDF is not independently confirmed. income_annual_disclosed_bdt set to 1,600,000 (EC affidavit, via Prothom Alo). No criminal cases found in any source. BNP's Aminul filed a post-result complaint (Feb 13) alleging rigging; no evidence of EC action or court stay as of verification date -- result stands. Born January 17, 1953; age 73 at time of election (Feb 12, 2026). Education: Bangla Wikipedia cites Rajshahi University; military career 1977-2008, retired as Colonel, commanded Bangladesh Military Academy. This is his first term in parliament.
