Seat history: Tarique Rahman (BNP Chairman, PM) won Bogura-6 in the February 12, 2026 general election with 216,284 votes (68.90%) against Jamaat's Abidur Rahman Sohel (97,626 votes, 31.10%), a margin of 118,658 votes on 71.03% turnout. Tarique also won Dhaka-17 and vacated Bogura-6 per RPO rules. EC conducted a by-election on April 9, 2026. BNP nominated Rezaul Karim Badsha, president of Bogura district BNP and former Bogura municipality mayor. He won with 133,931 votes (69.90%); runner-up Abidur Rahman Sohel (Jamaat) got 57,159 votes (29.83%); third candidate Al-Amin (Bangladesh Development Party) got 526 votes (0.27%); total valid votes 191,616 out of 193,326 ballots cast (turnout 42.57%). election_2026 records the by-election result as Badsha is the current MP. Bogura-6 covers Bogura Sadar Upazila (11 unions, 19 wards of Bogura municipality), electorate 454,043. BNP has dominated this seat since 1991 (Khaleda Zia 1996, 2001, 2008; Mirza Fakhrul 2018).
