Finance Division is one of two operative divisions under the Ministry of Finance (the other being the Financial Institutions Division at fid.gov.bd). It is the principal budget authority and public expenditure manager. Secretary Dr. Md. Khairuzzaman Mozumder (appointed 28 August 2023, replacing Senior Secretary Fatima Yasmin) holds a PhD from the University of Essex and an MA from McGill University; he was previously Additional Secretary (Macroeconomic) in Finance Division and Secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
