The Business Advisory Committee is a permanent house-management committee of the Jatiya Sangsad that operates in every parliament. Its chairman is always the sitting Speaker (ex officio); members are nominated by the Speaker rather than elected by the House -- distinguishing it from ministerial standing committees whose members are elected by the full House. Confirmed members of the 13th Parliament BAC as of the 14 March 2026 first meeting (cross-verified across TBS, Views Bangladesh, BD Pratidin): Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad (chair), PM Tarique Rahman (Leader of the House), Opposition Leader Md Shafiqur Rahman, Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Chief Whip Md Nurul Islam Moni, Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman, ATM Azharul Islam, and Opposition Chief Whip Md Nahid Islam; Deputy Speaker Kayser Kamal attended by special invitation (not a formal member). The BAC was one of five committees formed on the first sitting day (12 March 2026): BAC, the House Committee (chaired by Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni), the Special Committee on Ordinances (chaired by Jainal Abedin, Barishal-3, 14 members), the Committee of Privileges (chaired ex officio by the Speaker), and the Committee on Private Members' Bills and Resolutions (chaired by M Shahjahan, Noakhali-4). The 'established_year' is set to 1974, when the Rules of Procedure were first enacted under the current Constitution; the BAC has existed in successive parliaments since then. The 'July 12' end-date for the budget session cited in an older Daily Bangladesh article refers to a prior parliament's session and is not applicable to the 13th Parliament; as of 17 May 2026 no BAC decision fixing the end date of the second session has been publicly reported -- the budget is expected to pass by 30 June 2026.
