Bogura Science and Technology University

Establishment year set to 2023 (gazette notification date activating the 2001 Act, 22 May 2023) rather than 2001 (act passage) because the university had no legal operational existence until the gazette was issued -- it never functioned in the 2001-2023 period. The 2001 Act was passed by parliament but deliberately not gazette-notified under the BNP government (2001-2006) or subsequent Awami League administrations (2009-2023). A fresh 2020 draft bill was considered by the interim cabinet but abandoned in favour of activating the original 2001 Act. Wikipedia's claim of academic activity '2001-2013 and until 2018' appears to conflate BSTU with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU), Gopalganj, which also carries the BSTU abbreviation in some sources. No primary source supports any academic activity at Bogura before 2025. VC Prof. Dr. Md. Kudrat-E-Zahan (Chemistry, Rajshahi University) joined on 4 June 2025 as first VC, per Prothom Alo and The Daily Star (June 2025). He was not affected by either the March 16 or May 14, 2026 VC reshuffle batches (BSTU was not among the universities included in either batch; confirmed by UNB May 15, 2026 report listing 11 other universities). student_count and faculty_count are null: no students have been admitted; only the VC has been appointed as of May 2026. Campus: temporary premises at Uposhohor Housing Estate/College Road area, Bogura sadar; permanent campus site (Beel Nuruil area, Shakharia Union, Sadar Upazila) proposed but land acquisition not completed.
